Thoughts.

(the first few pages are mostly quick sketches and diagrams that are littered with shorthand writing that's mostly indecipherable)

The Arathi highlands.

In the north-eastern reaches of the highlands there is a emptied outpost, of sorts. That is what I assume it is, anyhow. I cannot tell if it's a recent development or if it was built/maintained by the Arathor back in the day. Irrelevant, really.

There are five points of interest that make this plot of flatlands of note, however. A derelict farm, a blacksmith, what appears to be a quarry, a sawmill and an abandoned stable. To be less vague, these are of note because they are in a very easily defendable position for us and even if the resources to be had there are not as abundant as they seem, this plot of land can be of use.

Needless to say, there are multiple parties interested in said resources. The remnants of the league of Arathor, the orcish presence in Hammerfall, and the undead or forsaken in the area that go by the Defilers, I think it was. Upon observing some various scraps here and there I came to the conclusion that securing these resources for our own needs is very well within the realm of possibility.

My suggested stratagem would be to claim the blacksmith and quarry and bolster our defenses at both. The farm can serve use as a temporary HQ and rallying point for troops. The sawmill is on slightly elevated ground and would be easily defendable with ballistas and artillery. However, due to the continued efforts of the Warsong in Ashenvale the lumber there is unessecary. What's more I do not know how cost efficent it would be to keep any manner of defense there stocked up in case of invasion. Perhaps cannibalizing the mill for any useable parts would prove prudent.

The stable is of note because of it's adjacency to Refuge Pointe. However, it is not easily defendable. It would be best to let the Arathor use this as a rallying point until we are ready to more aggressively secure the region.

Should these suggested stragems fail, my revised stratagem would be one of more direct action. Instead we hunker down at the farm and defend it at all costs to use it as a feint. Meanwhile a counter-offensive should be launched against Refuge Pointe to secure it and effectively pin down any of their standing forces. This is, assuming of course, it is possible to affirm the troops stationed in Undercity to the cause. Our troops will be much more easily mobilized whereas the Alliance will have a hard time getting any reinforcements to the position with any manner of expedience.

Should any of this succeed, I think it would be in the Horde's best interest to give the resources to the orcs of the region. It would be a show of good faith and would hopefully help ease the tension since the events of Wrathgate.

Perhaps I should speak of this to Saurfang.

After weeks of fruitless searching, I've learned something. That finding something you want is harder than merely removing something unwanted. Good example would be the Stormpike. Murdering their flunkies? Simple. Finding the one who paid them to be there? Not so much. But I digress.

Any leads I had didn't reveal anything relevant and the trail has gone cold (no pun intended), so I decided I would assist the others on the begenning stages of the assault on Icecrown citadel. Even in the lower spire the air is so cold it almost stings the inside of my lungs just to breathe. Reminds me of my youth in Strahnbrad. Which isn't a good thing.

If I had any less determination I would find the whole ordeal insufferable.

Perhaps I'll luck out and find new leads here...

There is a quick sketch of the layout of the lower spire of Icecrown Citadel followed with the following footnotes:
Not designed with defense in mind. Scourge seem unconcerned with invasion ignoring that it's at their front door
Primary defense seem to be traps. Not hard to disarm, but typically cleverly placed
    Further scouting unadvised

The foray into the citadel is slow going, but progress is being made. I am genuinely uninterested in the result of what happens to this so-called King. Still no sign of what I'm looking for yet. For now the assault got some headway. Light's Hammer was established and further invasive capabilities are now viable. As for how far or successful they will be, I cannot be sure. I do not doubt Varok or Tirion in the slightest. The boy's presence is something I cannot properly predict, however.

All battles for another day, however. After this I left the front to reflect upon things.

I sometimes wonder if what I was given was truly a second chance and this condition was just a catalyst for what I have returned to. Perhaps it was nessecary for more than just my sake. I've come too far to let bias or emotion cloud my judgement, however.

Enough musing for now, however. Alice grows hungry.

Should be interesting to see if the Alliance filth can put up any manner of resistance with this upcoming campaign. Though my primary concern is more in that with the Ravens diminished, I am not sure I will be able to ensure the Oathbound's saftey. Then again, I've been so lost in conflict I've not had the luxury of being able to fight alongside them.

While it has honed my abilities and awakened the understanding of the need to do all that is nessecary, it has also made me distant. It will be a good opportunity to size up the extent of their mettle. What's more, cold and harsh as it is to say this, if they cannot bring themselves to fight and kill when nessecary, then they are of no use to me, nor can I be of use to them.

Think I'd better get busy brewing up some poisons.
